Hello Adventurers!
Its been a while since we last did an update here on Kickstarter!
Development
Character Sheets We've been hard at work bringing the character sheet system online; unfortunately we've had to rework it multiple times due to some design decisions we made early on. We aren't quite ready to share it but we expect to share more information on this system next week.
Top Down Camera We've implemented a new top down camera system, this will be useful both for map maker's used to working in a top-down environment, as well as to players who aren't used to moving with a Free-Fly WASD input.
We've made it easy to switch between top-down and free-fly modes by pressing Shift+Tab.

Our Team
Aside from everything that has been happening with QuestHaven, we wanted to share in this update some news about our team. We've had some positive and negative experiences since our last update.
The Good: Working Together Lets start with the positive; since a few months ago we've had the amazing opportunity for many of our team to work together in a shared physical space! This experience has been overwhelmingly positive as our communication and productivity have gone up significantly! A local game-store that operates at nights has given us the opportunity to use their office space during the day; it's a nice symbiotic relationship as we are helping them with game design after hours on a D&D accessory and a board game project they are working on.

The Bad: Work-For-Hire QuestHaven has been a massive undertaking, at Mersis Games we've been pouring all our efforts and resources to make this game your helped us back a reality. This has included doing some work-for-hire on some other projects to help us stay afloat. Unfortunately one of these work-for-hire projects has been delayed in paying us for our development work for multiple months now; which has been concerning for our team to say the least.
No, we do not want to share details on the project or client; out of respect for the positive working relationship with the studio behind this project, we hope it gets resolved shortly.
Personal Note from Alejandro (!Nox): I wanted to share this information with all of you because of the nature of Kickstarter, you've backed our journey in developing QuestHaven, and felt it only right to share both the ups and the downs. At the same time, it's often difficult to gage how much information to share publically with our community, as we've been on the lookout for an investing or publishing partner to take QuestHaven to it's full potential; and how our studio is perceived can affect this.
All in all, we are approaching our funding situation from multiple angles in order to move forward with development, including new work-for-hire opportunities.
Moving Forward
We expect to share another update next week regarding the character sheet creator, the end of the early access portion of the beta, and some updates on the new visual style we've been sharing on Discord. It had been a while since our last update so we didn't want to wait until next week to fill you in.
QuestHaven’s Beta is Live!

Hello Adventurers, we are happy to announce that our early access multiplayer beta is live.
A lot has changed in our world builder since our world builder since the alpha, check out the new tutorial found in the settings tab.
How to redeem
In order to redeem you early beta access, head over to Backerkit and find your digital downlaods. There you will have two keys, the base key which you used to redeem QuestHaven through our launcher, and a new unique coupon key for early beta access.
Note: If you haven't redeemed your base game key, download the Launcher from our website and redeem your game key in the launcher itself.
Once you have redeemed the beta successfully, launch the game, log in, and you should be able to see the "Campaigns" tab in a solid color instead of faded out.
State of Development
At this current stage of development, we aim to release small patches every 2 weeks. We expect the next 2 weeks to be focused on bug catching. After that we will focus on enabling the character sheet system, followed by bringing back VR mode.

What about my other rewards?
We will distribute other rewards such as Kickstarter exclusive Dice, Galaxy Dice and Wanted Poster's in this same way in the future.

Keeping this update short.
It pains us to say we need to push back the Beta launch a couple more days. We are also going to make use of the time to fix a few major game breaking bugs. Our new target is Friday 19th, but it could extend to Tuesday 23rd.
We apologize for the delay, and look forward to having QuestHaven's beta in your hands as soon as possible.
Beta Release - April 17

We had a great beta weekend, and look forward to releasing the beta on April 17th.
During the weekend test we identified an issue with our back-end servers and are in the process of migrating our database.
QuestHaven Keys
At this point all backers should have their QuestHaven keys, if you don't have your yet, check that you have filled out your backer survey on Backerkit and head to Digital Downloads. If you are still having issues please reach out to !Nox on our Discord.
Tier Reward Keys
We will be sending out new keys to give you access to your Kickstarter tier rewards next week, along with instructions on how to redeem the bundle.

Open Beta Weekend
As we get ever closer to opening our tavern’s doors, we are thrilled to invite you to our Open Beta Weekend - March 29th - March 31st . We want as much feedback as possible so we are making this weekend open to all our backers, help us fine-tune the QuestHaven experience. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping our toolset, join us in this critical testing phase!
Early Closed Beta Access
Exciting news for our Explorer tier backers and onwards! Starting April 12th, a few of bug fixing weeks after the open beta weekend, the online beta early access will begin. We expect you should be able to run full campaigns inside QuestHaven at this point. While some features may be missing at the online beta launch, we will quickly keep adding them. Many features have been built but require additional implementation before bringing them into online play.
World Builder for Everyone?
For over a year our Pioneer tier has been building amazing maps in the world builder alpha!
We wanted to ask our community how would they feel about opening up the world builder to all our backers! We have loved the community created maps and feel more people building awesome maps would benefit everyone.
Please help us out with this brief survey about the world builder and map building community events.
As the core of our team works towards launching the beta, other parts of the team are working on new systems and content.
VFX: We are implementing a system for scaling particles like fire and smoke, as well as adjusting their colors and lighting effects.
Tails and Wings: New customization options for tails and wings will allow you to make new characters and monsters.
Greco-Roman Themes: Hundreds of new low poly fantasy themed objects optimized to work inside QuestHaven.
VR: Expect the PC-VR mode to be implemented some weeks after the closed beta launch. After we patch out bugs, this will be our next focus. Standalone VR will take longer as it will require additional optimization.
